Caroline,

Executive Director

Caroline has been the Executive Director of The Clubhouse Child Care Center since 1994. She has more than 40 years of experience with childcare and community programming in British Columbia and Alberta. Through strengthening community partnerships, and listening to the needs of the families for which the Clubhouse operates, she is a driver in creating positive change and programs that are sustainable, reliable and affordable. The Clubhouse Farm project was piloted in 2012 because of concerns that children are not getting enough time outside, and the effect this had on their development. Now, the farm produces 2800lbs of produce yearly and hosts more than 1500 children annually to get out, active, and learning about where food comes from.

Audrey

MSc.

Audrey holds a Master of Science from Stockholm University in association with Stockholm Resilience Center and the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics, with a focus on creating resilience in small scale food systems. She has worked with toddler to teen programs for nearly two decades in Sweden and Canada. She is a Clubhouse bus driver, Forest Classroom guide, and holds a Permaculture Design Certificate. She especially loves hiking, and finding grant opportunities to contribute to the financial stability of Clubhouse projects. Her interdisciplinary education and intent to contribute to a more resilient future for our next generations have led to her work with The Clubhouse Farm project since 2013.

Stefani

ECE IT/SN

Stef started her career in the culinary industry, and has applied many transferable skills in her career in childcare, especially when out at the Clubhouse Farm. The fresh produce and exposure to the natural world for children have been an ongoing inspiration for various farm-to-table programs for the Early Years. She has been with Clubhouse since 2010, and was an asset in developing the Clubhouse Nutrition Program. She enjoys teaching children about where their food comes from, and how they can be involved in the cooking process. By creating hands-on experiences for harvesting, canning, baking, and cooking, she helps children develop practical knowledge about their food systems, and supports lifelong healthy eating habits.

Melissa

B.Ed.

Melissa has 15 years experience working in childcare which began with receiving her bachelor's in Education, then later becoming an early childhood educator. During her schooling she was able to work in a variety of childcare and educational settings where she found her passion for teaching outside of the traditional classroom setting and working with the early years. Melissa brings her strong enthusiasm for exploring nature, gardening, and local wildlife to all of the children and educators that visit all of our programs.

Elyse

ECE IT/SN

Elyse earned her diploma in Early Childhood Education, Infant/Toddler Education, and Inclusive Child Care in 2010 and has been working with young children and families ever since. She first fell in love with The Clubhouse when her oldest child joined a school-age program in Kindergarten and came home full of stories from the Farm. Seeing the confidence, curiosity, and joy that outdoor learning inspired in children made a lasting impression. Elyse joined The Clubhouse in 2023 and is passionate about creating inclusive, welcoming environments where children can explore, connect with nature, and learn through hands-on experiences.

Marilyn

BPE, BEd

Marilyn began her 25-year teaching career in middle school before moving to high school and eventually discovering her passion for working with younger students. Her deep connection to nature and commitment to inquiry-based learning led her to bring the first school group to the Farm in 2013.
Since then, Marilyn has launched and developed two school-based outdoor academies and has become a strong advocate for connecting outdoor learning experiences with curricular content. As a member of our curriculum development team, Marilyn brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and practical insight to our school-age programs and is an invaluable resource in their continued development.
